Q:  Do I have to pay extra to ensure you are setup before my guests arrive?
Do I have to pay for time when my DJ is not playing?

A:  Unfortunately the answer is yesYour hourly billing simply begins when you want me to be setup for your event, and ends when you want me to pack up and go home.  I do not charge for the time I setup or cleanup, but do charge for everything in-between.  To get the most out of your entertainment buck, divide the area you are using for your ceremony or cocktails from the area in which you are having your reception (even if it's the same room).  Also remember that many times you will be using DJ equipment (wireless microphones, speakers, etc.) during ceremonies and presentations because this equipment is superior to the equipment provided by a hall or banquet facility, so you are receiving a benefit by having your DJ in the room during these times.  Keep in mind, I will usually arrive about 60 minutes prior to your event to setup my equipment.  If you are having a ceremony on-site, your guests may see me setting up equipment.  If you prefer to have a more professional appearance when guests arrive, contract to have all equipment setup prior to guest arrival.  It may cost a few more dollars, but it gives a better appearance on your special day.
